on Dublin Airport, airlines and associated services is divided into:
 Dublin
Airport, Location & Parking
Dublin Airport, run by Aer
Rianta, is Ireland's main airport and caters for most international
flights. The airport is situated about 10km north of the city (see city
overview map for location) and is the
main hub for the Irish airlines Aer Lingus and
Ryanair. For full arrival and departure information

shopping facilities and food and drink services are available at the
airport.
There are
a number of short term and long term parking facilities at the airport
along for park-and-fly services if required - see the Dublin
Airport website for the most up-to-date information. The
airport is a busy one, increasingly so in recent years, and is involved
in an ongoing extension and upgrading plan to cope with the rapid rise
in passenger numbers. As a result, you may find parking is limited.
Because of traffic congestion in Dublin and its surroundings, getting
to and from the airport is never a straightforward task and you should
allow plenty of time for your journey.
 Getting
to and from Dublin Airport
There is currently no suburban rail link to the capital's airport,
though it does feature in the transportation plan for the city and is
likley to be deliverd in the 2007-2015 timeframe. In the meantime, there
are a number of bus services available from state and private operators.
All bus stops are found outside the arrivals hall, turning left.
- Airlink Bus
Dedicated state-run bus service which takes about 30 minutes or less,
the Airlink bus service creates a link between Dublin Airport, Bus
Áras (central bus station) and Heuston and Connolly Railway

search for route 747/8. As a dedicated service with fewer stops, it
is more expensive than city scheduled services.
- AerDart
Bus
Dedicated state-run bus service to link up with the suburban Dart
service at Howth station. See www.dublinbus.ie

- Aircoach
This is a privately-operated bus service that runs from the city centre
(05.30 until 23.30) to Dublin Airport (06.30 until 23.30) every 15
minutes. Tickets are available on the bus. There are numerous pick-up
points around the city centre and it is a convenient way to reach
the airport from town. For pricing and routemap see www.aircoach.ie.
As a dedicated service with fewer stops, it is more expensive than
city scheduled services.
- Scheduled City
Bus Services
There is also the regular state-run city bus service which will take
about 50 minutes to reach the centre, depending on the number of stops
made along the way. These buses depart from the arrivals gateway also.
Note that exact change in coin is needed to board these buses (upwards
of €1.05 at 08/2002 prices). See www.dublinbus.ie

- Citylink
If traveling onwards to Galway, Citylink
operates a bus service from Dublin Airport to Galway City centre.

Taxis
to and from the Airport
A taxi is often a quicker
alternative to getting a bus. Travelling between the city and the airport
by taxi costs upwards of €20 (at 08/2002 prices) and will take
about 20-50mins depending on traffic - there is an extra cost for pick-up
and set-down at the airport which you will be required to pay as an
extra, but all of the fare details will be specified on the list of
tarifs displayed in the taxi. Dublin traffic
is particularly appalling in recent times so regardless of transport
mode, be prepared to wait in traffic from 7-11am into the city and 3-7pm
out from the city. There is a taxi rank outside the arrivals hall, turning
right. It is advisable to ask about the fare before leaving the airport.

Car
Hire
Car hire companies can also be found in Dublin Airport and have offices/desks
in the arrivals hall (see the Dublin
Airport site for more details). Using our maps

Airlines
& Ticket Sales
Airlines are increasing moving to online sales (for example Aer
Lingus and Ryanair) and
